Nestled in the valley beside the town of Lumsden, you will find the home of Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Ski Club. QVN is a club that is dedicated to promoting both cross-country skiing and biathlon.
Our vision is to grow a club that operates from a premier Nordic facility that can be home to recreational and competitive athletes, that provides all-season training options, and that will draw athletes from Saskatchewan and western Canada.
The trail system will provide skiing for both classic and skate, for novice and experts, and for casual and competitive skiers. The facility will eventually have paved, lit trails with elevation changes worthy of challenging athletes who want to train for international competitions. During the summer months, the trails will provide opportunities for roller skiing, cycling, and hiking. For biathletes, there will be a 30 lane range that is capable of hosting western and national competitions. In addition to Nordic sports, this well situated facility will be a gathering place for youth and families to enjoy healthy pursuits such as walking, cycling, roller skiing, kayaking and canoeing.
Working in collaboration with the Town of Lumsden and R.M. of Lumsden, Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Ski Club will develop a facility to promote health, wellness and a variety of recreational activities.
